After wrapping up her first year with the Warriors by going 3-for-4 at the plate and pitching a complete game, first-year Sage Smeltz has earned her first career Warrior of the Week award. Smeltz was 2-for-2 at the plate and she threw a seven-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader with Elizabethtown before going 1-for-2 with a RBI in the second game.

Smeltz finished her rookie season with a .327 batting average (16-of-49) and she led the Warriors with six wins, four complete games, a shutout, 74 innings pitched and 28 strikeouts in the circle.
