With three wins over regionally-ranked opponents during the Whitehill National Duals, junior Eli Crum has earned his third career Warrior of the Week award and his second of the season. After the 184-pounder lost his opening match of the tournament to a nationally-ranked grappler from Springfield, Crum rebounded with a 15-0 technical fall of Stevens' Joel Martsinosky, ranked second in Region 2. He followed that with a key pin that clinched a 26-22 win over McDaniel to wrap up his work on Friday. On Saturday, after falling behind to Cortland's regionally-ranked Robby Cunningham, he rebounded in the second period with back points before posting a pin. In Crum's final match of the tournament, he posted a 15-0 tech fall of Ajay Lock from Ohio Northern, ranked fifth in Region 4.
Crum is 18-6 this year with five pins and 12 tech falls. His 27 career technical falls are one shy of the school record of 28 set by Trevor Corl (2016-20).
