On Wednesday, Payne jumpstarted the Warriors to a 16-3 win over Misericordia, scoring three goals in the first quarter and four in the first half en route to the win. He finished with five goals, moving into the top 10 in the school's career record book in the category, as he passed Dan Cannon (2005-08) with his fifth tally of the game and the 89th of his career. He reached 90 goals with a single tally against Eastern, helping him finish the week with an average of 3.0 goals per game.
