Extending her streak of innings without allowing an earned run to 21 and by winning a pair of grueling Landmark Conference games has helped senior Kylie Russell earn her third career Warrior of the Week award and her first of the season. The southpaw started the week by pitching five innings, allowing only the international tiebreaker run to score in a 4-3 win over Wilkes, as she fanned six in the game. She followed that with four innings of scoreless relief in the first game against Drew, then threw a three-hit shutout in the second game of the doubledip, winning 2-0, as she struck out six and never let a runner past second in the 99-pitch effort. Her last strikeout of the game was the 250th of her career, marking the fourth time a Warrior has reached that plateau, and she also became the eighth Warrior to reach 25 career wins.
Russell is fourth in the Landmark with a 1.99 ERA, tied for third with eight wins and she leads the league with 65 strikeouts.
