Big weeks with the bat, glove and arm have helped junior Avery Eiswerth earn her second career Warrior of the Week award and her first of the season. In the circle, the junior was 1-0 with a save and 2.00 ERA in three appearances. She tossed 14 innings, allowing 15 hits and two walks, striking out 14, as she had a three-inning save against Alfred, the 2023 Empire 8 regular season champions, striking out five and allowing three hits and two runs in an 8-6 win and then posted a complete-game win against 2023 Landmark Conference champions and 20th-ranked Moravian, allowing six hits, one earned run and striking out a season-high eight in 6-2 win. Â
She may have been even better at the plate, where she hit .500 (6-for-12) with three homers and eight RBI, posting a 1.333 slugging percentage, scoring five runs, hitting a double, stealing a base and handling all nine opportunities in the field as a right fielder and pitcher. She went 2-for-4 with two runs and a two-run homer in Lycoming's 8-6 win over Alfred that helped put it out of reach and followed that by going 3-for-3 and tying the school record with two home runs in 6-2 win over No. 20 Moravian. She drove in all six runs in the game, notching a first-inning RBI double, a solo homer in the fourth and a grand slam in the fifth, lifting the Warriors to their first win over a ranked team in 13 years.
