Leading the team in hitting and winning two elimination games in the circle has helped sophomore Avery Eiswerth earn her first career Warrior of the Week award. The Williamsport, Pa., native hit .286 during the MAC Freedom Championship, where Lycoming went 3-2 to advance to the conference final. She led the team with four RBI and hit the team's only home run of the week and went 2-1 with a 3.23 ERA in 17.1 innings in the circle. She hit the home run in the tournament's opening game, a 6-1 loss to King's, but came back the next day with a three-RBI game in an elimination game with King's. She hit a two-RBI single to get the Warriors on the board in the sixth inning and make it 3-2 before scoring the go-ahead run on the next play. She tossed three innings to help Lycoming post a 2-1 win over Arcadia, then threw a complete game against King's in the 6-3 win, striking out four. She tossed four scoreless innings to start the championship final against Misericordia and finished the game as well, striking out four in that contest.
Eiswerth finished the season hitting .305 with 15 runs, six doubles, two homers and 14 RBI and she was 7-5 with a 3.46 ERA in 83 innings, striking out 60. All marks were career bests for the sophomore.
