A former Lycoming College cheerleader herself, Makaela Bickhart ’21 is set to serve as the team’s advisor in 2026-27.
As cheerleading advisor, Bickhart oversees the team’s practices, meetings and appearances at sporting and community events. She also helps maintain the team's budget and organizes team fundraisers.
Bickhart is a 2021 graduate of Lycoming College, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting. A four-year member of the cheerleading team while at Lycoming, she previously worked with both the Danville Area and Jersey Shore Area High School cheer squads throughout the past decade.
A 2016 graduate of Danville Area High School, Bickhart worked as the varsity and junior varsity sideline head coach for the past four years and five overall, while also working with the middle school team for five years and serving as the competition head coach for the past three years, helping Danville to a PIAA District IV Co-Ed runner-up finish in 2024 and a third place finish this spring, helping the Ironmen earn a pair of appearances at the PIAA state meet.
She also worked for two years as the varsity sideline assistant coach and competition head coach at Jersey Shore Area High School from 2020-22.
A senior accountant at Bucknell University, Bickhart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. She has earned NCA and UCA coach certifications, as well as several NFHA certifications.
