After a three-year stint as an offensive lineman for the Warriors, Brent Newton will begin his fourth year as as a coach with the Warriors in 2025, working as the tight ends coach and special teams coordinator.
Newton has coached one all-conference pick and helped the team to a postseason win in 2023 in the Cape Charles Bowl, a 20-17 victory over Washington & Lee.

Newton, who started all 11 games for the Warriors at right guard in 2021, helped the team to an 8-3 record and a win in the MAC-Centennial Bowl Series over Ursinus, 31-23. The Warrior offense averaged 319.3 yards per game, including grounding out 140.8 yards. Newton appeared in 20 games with the Warriors after transferring from Millersville University, also appearing in nine games in 2019.

The Middletown, Pa., native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Lycoming College in 2022.
