Kate Hoover

Former Susquehanna University standout Kate (Reese) Hoover is set for her eighth season as an assistant coach with the Lycoming College volleyball team in 2024, serving again as a volunteer assistant.

Hoover helped the Warriors to an 18-13 record and a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Championship in 2019, as the team reached the conference semifinals for the first time since 2015. Hoover, who helped coach the school's all-time digs leader Emily Hepner, has helped mentor six all-conference selections and helped the team to 90 wins.

Hoover was a four-year letterwinner with Susquehanna’s volleyball team, leading the team to a 96-56 record. She helped the team to four appearances in the Landmark Conference finals, as the defensive specialist is eighth in Susquehanna’s record book with 1,158 career digs, averaging 2.6 in 461 career sets. Her 581 digs as a senior in 2011 is also eighth in program history.

She was also a four-year member of the softball team, serving as a middle infielder and helping the team to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2010.

A native of Wellsboro, Hoover earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Susquehanna in 2012 and a Master of Science in accounting from Syracuse University in 2013. She resides in South Williamsport with husband, Bryan, and two daughters. She is a senior accountant with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP.
