Taylor Klunk

After appearing in the past two NCAA Division II National Championship games as a player at Lock Haven University, Taylor Klunk has transitioned into coaching, as she is set for her second season as an assistant coach with the Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team in 2017.

In 2016, she helped mentor the Lycoming defense, which allowed just 9.59 goals per game, the program's best defensive effort since 2006. The team also won 12 games, including a season-opening eight-game winning steak, and made its first appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament since 2010.

Klunk served as a key part of Lock Haven’s attack from 2013-15, helping the team to three appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament semifinals and two appearances in the finals (2014, ’15).

An attack, Klunk posted seven goals, 20 assists and 18 ground balls while starting 16 games for the Eagles as a senior. She scored a goal and added an assist in the 11-6 NCAA semifinals win over Lindenwood. As a junior, she finished with 20 goals and an assist whole playing in the first 11 games of the season.

Klunk finished her career with 41 goals and 28 assists, grabbing 33 ground balls and causing seven turnovers.

A native of Forest Hill, Md., Klunk was a two-time all-county selection in field hockey and one-time pick in lacrosse at Bel Air High School.

She also has served as an assistant coach with Looney’s Lacrosse Club for the past two years and has worked both Lock Haven Summer Lacrosse camps and clinics during the past four years.

A two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion, Klunk is also a two-time member of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. She is currently finishing a bachelor of science in education degree while student teaching during the fall semester.

The Warriors finished 10-6 in 2014, just the fifth 10-win campaign in school history and the first since 2010.
