A three-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection at Alvernia University, Samantha Landis is in her second year as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Lycoming College.
In her first year with the Warriors, Landis assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, practice preparation and opponent scouting. Along the way, she helped mentor two all-conference selections.
A four-year letterwinner and a team captain in both field hockey and lacrosse at Alvernia, Landis is one of the most decorated women’s lacrosse players in the school’s history. A midfielder, Landis picked up two Second Team All-MAC honors and as a senior she was a First Team All-Commonwealth Conference selection. As a junior, she was named a USA College Lacrosse.com Honorable Mention All-American after posting 23 goals and 17 assists and she wrapped up her career by being named Alvernia’s Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 2011-12.
She finished her career as the second in school history in career assists with 65, seventh with 120 career goals and sixth with 185 points.
In field hockey, Landis was a two-time All-Commonwealth Conference selection and she earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association South Atlantic Second Team All-Region honors as a senior. She has continued to stay active in the game, serving as an assistant varsity field hockey coach at her alma mater, Warrior Run Area High School, during the fall season.
A 2012 cum laude graduate of Alvernia University with a Bachelor of Science in biology, Landis was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years and served as the Intramural Athletic Board’s president. She earned six mentions on the MAC Academic Honor Roll (three each for field hockey and lacrosse), was named to the NFHCA All-Academic squad four times and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll once.
