After guiding the Warriors through a .500 season in 2025, Meaghan Smith is set for her second year as the head coach of the Lycoming College women’s lacrosse program in 2026.
The Warriors finished a game out of contention for a Landmark Conference Championship slot in 2025, as Smith mentored three all-conference selections during her first year in Williamsport. The Warriors earned three IWLCA National Player of the Week honors during the season and she also mentored Alexis Baldwin, who set season and career assists records during the season. The team also earned the IWLCA Team Academic Award.
Smith came to Lycoming after two years as the head coach at Mount Saint Vincent in the Skyline Conference, where she coached four all-conference selections, including the Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2023 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
Prior to that, Smith spent three years each at Division II Lake Erie College (2020-22) and Queens College (2017-19).
She has coached five all-conference honorees, six IWLCA Academic Honor Roll picks and 49 conference academic honor roll selections in her time as a head coach.
Smith also served as an assistant coach at Maine Maritime in 2015 and at Norwich University the next year.
Smith, also has coached in club lacrosse, working as the head coach of the Ohio Premier Lacrosse Club, Lightning Club Lacrosse and the Liberty Lacrosse Club.
A three-time All-East Coast Conference defender at Division II Dowling College, Smith helped the Lions to three ECC Championships and one appearance in the NCAA Championships in her career. Also a member of the women’s soccer team, she helped that squad win two ECC titles and two appearances in the NCAA Division II Championships.
A Wantagh, N.Y. native, Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Dowling College in 2014 and a Masters of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in coaching from Stony Brook University in 2021.
