One of the highest scoring players in the history of NCAA Division III women's lacrosse, Karen Shaddock is set for her third season as head coach of the Lycoming College women's lacrosse program.

In two years with the program, Shaddock has led the team to back-to-back 10-win campaigns, posting 22 wins, and led the team to the conference tournament twice. She has coached six all-conference selections, a conference player of the year, two all-region picks and one North/South Senior All-Star game participant.

The Warriors enjoyed their school-record third straight 10-win season in 2017, posting a 10-7 record. Again marked by a dominating offense, the Warriors were paced by the league's top scorer in Kelly McGinniss, who earned all-region honors. The Warriors finished the year by claiming a 14-4 win over Lebanon Valley in the MAC Commonwealth Championship first round, the team's first postseason win in seven years. The team's season ended in the conference semifinals, after being within a goal of fourth-ranked Messiah with 15 minutes remaining in the game.

In her first season with the program, Shaddock led the Warriors to a 12-5 record, as she led the team to a 4-4 mark and fifth-place finish in the MAC Commonwealth, helping the team earn its first postseason berth since 2010. The 12 wins were the third-most in program history and the team started the year with an eight-game winning streak, the second-longest in program history. The Warriors featured one of the best offenses in Division III, finishing fourth in the nation with 16.41 goals, second with 17.41 draw controls, 10th with 22.53 points and 12th with a 6.82 scoring margin and .504 free-position percentage. The Warriors had the top three point-scorers in the MAC Commonwealth, with Meghenn Jackson finishing third in the nation with 6.65 points per game, Jordan Lazarich 21st with 5.41 and McGinniss just behind at 4.18.

Shaddock came to Lycoming after one season as an assistant coach at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she also served as an assistant sports information director.

At RIT, Shaddock immediately helped the Tigers post a two-win improvement during the 2014 season, as the team was outscored by no more than two goals in any conference game while posting a 7-9 overall mark and a 4-5 mark in the Liberty League. Serving as the offensive coordinator, goalkeeper and strength and conditioning coach, Shaddock helped mentor the 2015 Liberty League Rookie of the Year and four all-conference players.

Shaddock spent two years at Medaille College as the head women's lacrosse coach in 2013-14, leaving the program as its all-time wins leader, notching a 20-13 record in her two years with the program. In her first year with the team, she guided the squad to a school-record 11-5 record while helping the team earn its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament bid. In her two years with the program, she coached 10 all-conference selections.

She also served as Medaille's sports information director, NCAA compliance contact and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor during her two years at the school, earning the Medaille College Trio Most Outstanding Staff Member Award in 2014.

Also active with American International Sports Teams, she has taken teams to the 2012 Prague World Cup, 2013 Amsterdam World Tour, 2014 England World Tournament and she is currently recruiting a squad to compete in the 2016 Prague World Cup.

Shaddock has also worked with several club lacrosse teams and clinics across Western New York, including the Grow2Pro and Buffalo Wings lacrosse clubs.

One of the best women's lacrosse players in the history of Buffalo State, Shaddock finished her career with 457 career points, the second-highest total in Division III history. Her 195 career assists are ninth in Division III history. She is one of only two players in Division III history to lead the nation in both goals (108, 2012) and assists (74, 2009) and the only one to do lead the nation in the categories in different years of her career. A two-time All-American, she was a four-time all-region and all-conference selection, earning the State University of New York Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Year and Women'sLacrosse.com's National Rookie of the Year award in 2009 and the SUNYAC Player of the Year award in 2010. She was also named Buffalo State's Female Athlete of the Year in 2012.
