One of the most recognizable links to the history of the Lycoming College softball program, Joe Moore is entering his 18th year as a member of the softball coaching staff.
Hired in 1997 by Christen Ditzler, who was the head coach for the first 12 of Moore’s years in the dugout, Moore has helped the Warriors compile 234 wins during his first 17 years with the team.
Moore has been a part of three 20-win campaigns and helped guide the Warriors to four appearances in the Middle Atlantic Conference or Freedom Conference finals. In addition, he has helped coach nine teams into the conference playoffs.
Along the way, 37 Warriors have earned all-conference honors and three were named All-East Region.
Prior to joining Lycoming’s staff, he served as head coach of the Loyalsock Township (Pa.) High School baseball team and coached numerous Little League teams.
A Williamsport native, Moore graduated from St. Joseph’s High School and attended Lycoming College. Moore resides in Cogan Station with his wife, Teresa, their daughter Joy, and son, Jay.
