Joe Balduino is entering his third stint with the men's soccer team as he enters his second year as a volunteer assistant coach with the men's soccer program.
Balduino mainly helps the Warriors during game days and at practices, as he looks to stay in touch with his lifelong love of soccer. In his first year with the team in 2016, Balduino was a part of a staff that helped the Warriors to their fourth straight winning season, finishing 9-6-4.
Balduino had previously spent four years as head coach of the women's soccer program from 2007-10, as he won 29 games, just one shy of the school record. With the women, Balduino coached five all-conference performers and one Academic All-District selection.
Taking over in 2007, Balduino proceeded to lead the Warriors to a 9-8 record, becoming the only rookie head coach in program history to coach the team to a winning record.
From 2004-06, Balduino assisted Lycoming’s men’s soccer program, helping the team to a 34-19-4 (.631) record and two trips to the Freedom Conference playoffs, including a finals apperance in 2004.
A four-year letterwinner with the men’s soccer program, Balduino served as team captain in both 2002 and 2003. During his career, Balduino appeared in 64 games as a midfielder.
A 2004 graduate of Lycoming, Balduino is also the manager of admissions information systems at the college. He has also earned his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma.
Originally from Washington, N.J., Balduino resides in Montoursville with his wife, Sarah, a 2005 Lycoming College alum, and their two children, Christopher and Kaitlyn.
