Katie Sick

Katie Sick

One of the best runners from District 4 in the 2000s, Katie Sick is set for her sixth year as head cross country coach in 2024.

Sick has coached Katryn Yocum to three straight all-conference selections and has also guided both the men's and women's programs to three straight USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.
 
Sick has coached the three fastest runners in the women's program's history and helped the women set program records in 2023 when it placed a record sixth at the Landmark Conference Championships and 23rd at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
  
Prior to becoming the head coach, Sick assisted in all aspects of the cross country program in 2017-18. 
 
A letterwinner in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field at Lock Haven University, Sick served as the captain of the Bald Eagles in 2012 and 2014. As a sophomore, she took ninth at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships and 11th at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships, earning all-region status. 
 
The valedictorian of her high school class at Millville High School, Sick was a seven-time state championship qualifier and a four-time medalist in cross country, including finishing third as a senior. She also won the District 4 title that year.
 
Sick graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Lock Haven in 2015. She earned Lock Haven Health and Physical Education honors four times in her career and earned the university's Highest Academic Achievement Award in the College of Liberal Arts and Education.
 
A native of Millville, Pa., Sick is a health and physical education teacher at Muncy Jr./Sr. High School. She, and husband, Dan, reside in Millville.
