Join us as in a 20-part journey across some of the finest athletic moments in school history, released in conjunction with the school's bicentennial celebration
Over the 2011-12 academic year, the Lycoming College athletic department will take you on a journey through its past with the beginning of a 20-part series that will chronicle 200 memorable moments from the history of the program in conjunction with and in celebration of the College's bicentennial.
From the first intercollegiate athletic team on campus, the 1890 baseball team, to the latest events on the athletic fields in 2011, Sports Information Director Joe Guistina has researched the list over the past year and will release 10 moments each bi-weekly starting on Friday, Aug. 19.
Each of the 200 moments, memories, coaches or athletes hold a special place in the school's history, but by no means is this list meant to be comprehensive or all-inclusive. The thousands of student-athletes who have competed for Lycoming College have woven too rich a fabric for a definitive "Top 200" to be fair. This is merely one list of highlights.
With that said, we feel certain that we missed an event or two that can be deemed a memorable moment or a memorable student-athlete.
So once again, we hope you enjoy the ride, as we look back on the athletic program's great moments while it will undoubtedly continue to make many more as it moves into the College's third century.
And, of course, feel free to send those memories to Sports Information Director Joe Guistina at guistina@lycoming.edu.
