George Preston (New York, N.Y. / Cardinal Hayes) scored for the second time in three games against a regionally-ranked opponent for the Lycoming College men's soccer team, which fell 2-1 in a non-conference match against Messiah University on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at UPMC Field.
Lycoming (4-5) notched five of their seven shot attempts in the second half, starting with a near-miss just over the crossbar from senior
Aidan Stillman (Silver Spring, Md. / Albert Einstein). A few minutes later, Stillman fired a free kick towards the left side that deflected to Preston, who punched in his second goal of the season.

Jace Bennett (Falling Waters, W. Va. / Spring Mills) swallowed up a career high-tying nine saves.Â
Elijah Perry and Jalen Miller scored for Messiah, with Owen Resch assisting on both goals, which came less than a minute apart in the first half. Killian O'Reilly made three saves for the Falcons.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 3 for a Landmark Conference matchup at Drew University. Kickoff from Ranger Stadium in Madison, N.J. is scheduled for 1 p.m.
