DALLAS, Pa. — The Lycoming College men's soccer team triumphed over Misericordia, 4-0, on Saturday night, Sept. 19, in a non-conference match. The Warriors scored twice in each half and held Misericordia to three shots on goal. Lycoming's four goals marked a season high.
 
First-year Connor Hussman (Bernville, Pa./Tulpehocken Area) scored a season-best twice, including the game-winning goal. Sophomore Leandro Cruz (Nottingham, Md./Loyola Blakefield) added a goal and an assist for three points, scoring in his second consecutive game and recording his first assist of the season. First-year Dylan Motta (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) scored his first goal of the season on his lone shot and junior Jace Bennett (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) played all 90 minutes in goal, making three saves in his second shutout of the year.
 
Hussman put the Warriors in front in the ninth minute off Cruz's assist, then added another goal in the 21st minute from senior Andrew Barclay (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) to make it 2-0. The Warriors also earned three corner kicks, and Bennett made two saves as the Warriors carried a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
 
Cruz gave the Warriors the second-half breakthrough at 50:24, extending the advantage to 3-0. Motta finished first-year David Delcid (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood)'s first career assist at 88:39 to make it 4-0.
 
The Warriors recorded season highs with four goals and three assists.
 
Thomas D'Arco played all 90 minutes in goal for Misericordia and made four saves.
 
The Warriors are 4-2-0 overall and the Cougars are 3-4-0 overall.
 
Up next, the Warriors host Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at UPMC Field at Keiper Stadium.
