Lycoming sweeps King's, 7-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Lycoming College women's tennis team put together a complete performance, sweeping every set of a 7-0 non-conference victory over King's College on Thursday, April 9 at Brandon Park.

Lycoming (2-9) earned their first victory of the spring semester, starting the action strong with a pair of convincing wins over King's (0-8) in doubles action. Senior Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa. / Central Columbia) and sophomore Sadie Stahl (Duboistown, Pa. / South Williamsport Area) rolled to a 6-1 win in No. 1 doubles, while seniors Great Kimble (South Williamsport, Pa. / South Williamsport Area) and Cassandra Conner (Lebanon, Pa. / Lebanon) put together a 6-2 victory in No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Kelchner dispatched Carlee Dellose 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 match, while Stahl roared to a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in the No. 2 pairing over Miley Caetano. Kimble also earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 3 singles matchup over Allison Van Pelt, and sophomore Yeanneth Rosado (Temple, Pa. / Muhlenberg) finished off the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Maddie Sirianni in No. 4 singles.

The Warriors were the recipients of walkovers in the final doubles match, plus #5 and #6 singles.

Lycoming will be back in action on Saturday, April 11 for a Landmark Conference match against the Catholic University of America. Opening serve from Washington, D.C. is scheduled for 1 p.m.
