QUANTICO, Md. – First-year Tre Lesperance (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) fired an 8-over-par 80 to finish the first day of the Salisbury Sea Gull Invitational in a tie for ninth in a 52-player field to lead the Lycoming College golf team at the par-72, 6,631-yard Green Hill Country Club on Saturday, April 11.
 
Lesperance finished the first day of the tournament by firing a 2-over-par 38 on the back nine, birdying the par-4, 311-yard No. 13 and the par-5, 485-yard No. 15.
 
Junior Will Eberz (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) posted a 12-over-par 84 to finish 22^nd and junior Connor Shanahan (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East finished with a 13-over-par 85 to place 28th. Rounding out the scoring four, first-year Hill Meserve (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) posted a 14-over-par 86, giving the team a score of 334 to finish in eighth in the 10-team field. First-year Colby Seiler (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) was 15-over-par with an 87.
 
Salisbury's 'B' team leads the tournament after shooting a 318 in the opening round, three strokes ahead of Capital. Salisbury's Ryan Henneman leads the individual leaderboard after posting a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday.
 
The Warriors finish the Sea Gull Invitational with a 9 a.m., round at Green Hill Country Club on Sunday, April 12.
