WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Lycoming College women's volleyball team fell, 3-0, in a Landmark Conference match to the University of Scranton on Friday night, Oct. 9, at Lamade Gymnasium.
Scranton (11-6, 3-0) took the three-set affair over Lycoming (3-14, 0-1) , 25-12, 25-20, 25-23, as the Warriors warded off four match points before the Royals were able to get the winning point.
Sophomore Emi Wenger (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) led the Warriors with six kills, sophomore Kamryn Skeith (Monroe, Wa. / Sultan) paced the squad with four assists, and sophomore Lara DeFreitas (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg) tallied five digs. Senior Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va. / Kettle Run) notched a pair of aces.
Scranton was led by nine kills from Hailey Hennessey, 14 assists from Caitlyn McGonigal, and 13 assists from Cammi Quirk.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 10, for a Landmark Conference matchup against Drew University. The match will begin at noon in Lamade Gym.
