Rookies lead Warriors again in tri-match

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – First-years Kamryn Skeith (Monroe, Wash./Sultan), Emi Wenger (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and Charlene Petreshock (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) each had 15 or more kills to lead the Lycoming College women's volleyball team in a tri-match at Lamade Gym on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, as the team fell to Alfred State, 3-2 (15-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-12, 15-8), and Marywood, 3-2 (21-25, 25-14, 25-16, 19-25, 15-10).
 
Skeith posted 18 kills, 27 assists and 27 digs, posting a triple-double, her third of the season, with 10 kills, 12 assists and 13 digs against Alfred State (6-0 overall) and a double-double with 15 assists and 14 digs to go with eight kills against Marywood (5-0 overall).
 
Wenger posted 10 kills and seven digs against Alfred State and six kills and 18 digs against Marywood and Petreshock notched 10 kills and six digs against Alfred State and five kills against Marywood.
 
Junior Ima Mercado (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) notched 15 digs against Alfred State and 19 digs and three aces against Marywood. Junior Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) posted 10 assists and nine digs against Marywood and 16 assists and an ace against Alfred State.
 
Junior Caroline Colucci (Denville, N.J./Roxbury) had eight kills, five digs and three blocks against Marywood and senior Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) added seven kills and six blocks. Junior Alli Macensky (Galeton, Pa./Galeton) added four blocks against the Pacers.
 
Alfred State was led by 17 kills a piece from Gloria Stem and Alayna Tomlinson, who also had six aces, and Gabriella Thurmond added 37 assists and six aces. Marywood was led by Taylor Hallam with 16 kills, Ayla Bransford with 45 assists and Catie Woolf with 32 digs.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Sept. 9, with a 6 p.m., non-conference match with Mount Aloysius at Lamade Gym.
