LOCK HAVEN, Pa.—The Lycoming College women's tennis team won a pair of matches in a road defeat at Division II Lock Haven University, falling 5-2, on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The Warriors fell to 1-5 while Lock Haven moved to 2-3, though the two matches won is the best showing for Lycoming in their last four matches.
The Warriors claimed a pair of singles matches, with sophomore Sadie Stahl (Duboistown, Pa. / South Williamsport) bouncing back from a first-set loss to claim a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory in No. 1 singles. In No. 6 singles, first year Rayna Burke (Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) earned her first victory on the court this season in a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Lycoming will play their final match of the fall at home on Thursday, Oct. 2 against the University of Scranton. The match will begin at 3 p.m. at the Brandon Park Tennis Courts.
