MONT ALTO, Pa. – Three Lycoming first-year players –
Kamryn Skeith (Monroe, Wash./Sultan) (16),
Emi Wenger (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) (8) and
Charlene Petreshock (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) (6) – accounted for 30 of the team's 39 kills in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-22) win over Penn State Mont Alto in non-conference action on Wednesday night, Sept. 3.
Skeith came up a dig shy of her third triple-double of the season, posting 16 kills, hitting .375, to go with 10 assists and nine digs. Wenger posted eight kills, two aces and 13 digs and Petreshock added six kills and six digs.
Junior
Ima Mercado (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) posted 16 digs and junior
Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) added 14 assists and three aces, as she helped Lycoming (3-1 overall) hit .160 in the match.
Mont Alto (0-3 overall) hit .060 (28-21-117) in the match. Elizabeth Trella led the team with 12 kills. Kiera Mouer had 17 digs, Brooklynn Sheridan added 13 assists and Abigail Wagner notched four blocks.
The Warriors are back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 6, when they host Alfred State (11 a.m.) and Marywood (3 p.m.) in a tri-match at Lamade Gym.
