WASHINGTON D.C. – Senior
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) struck out six batters in the first game and two in the first inning of the second game to set the Lycoming College softball team's single-season strikeouts record, but the team fell to the Catholic University of America, 3-1 and 10-2, at the Nationals Youth Academy on Saturday, April 26 to close the 2025 season.

Eiswerth (7-9) tossed a five-hitter in the first game, allowing one earned run, five walks and striking out six.

Catholic (26-10, 10-4 Landmark) took the lead with two unearned runs in the first inning, but the Warriors (13-16 overall, 4-12 Landmark) closed within a run in the third when junior
Hailee Sobieski (Wharton, N.J./Morris Catholic) hit an infield single and a throwing error allowed senior
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) to score. Catholic got one more run in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-1.

Amy Gastright went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the Cardinals. Junior
Mallory Rodarmel (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) and first-year
Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) each had two hits for the Warriors.

Aubryn Arcement (8-6) allowed eight hits and an unearned run. She walked two and struck out two.

Lycoming pounded three doubles in the second game, but four-run innings from Catholic in the fourth and sixth innings helped it post a 10-2 win.

Lycoming got on the board in the fifth inning when junior
Kristen George (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) singled in Sobieski. In the sixth, Sobieski doubled to score junior
Claire Alexander (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area).

Ashley Forrest (Red Hill, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) each had a double for Lycoming.

Katie Scolese was 4-for-4 with two runs and two runs. Amanda Gomez scored three runs and Gastright was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Sophia Colangelo (11-2) earned the win, tossing six innings and allowing five hits and two runs. She struck out five. Eiswerth allowed three hits and two runs in the first inning for the Warriors.
