WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – For the second time this season, junior Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) has earned the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Offensive Player of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday, April 1.
During Saturday's 21-16 victory over Elizabethtown, Block contributed nine goals — including four in the first quarter, two in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth — which is tied for second most in a game in program history. She also added two assists, which brought her to 11 points, as she finished the game with 203 career points, becoming the eighth player in school history to reach the mark. She also contributed seven draws, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls in the win.
To kick off the week, Block posted three goals in the first quarter against Elmira, beginning the Warriors' 18-0 run on Wednesday evening.
Block leads the Landmark Conference with an average of 4.56 goals per game and sits second in the league with an average of 5.44 points per game. She was named the IWLCA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on March 18.
The Warriors travel to Scranton, Pa., on Wednesday, April 2, for Landmark Conference action against the University of Scranton at 4 p.m.
