Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Fury in final minutes lifts Warriors to Landmark semis, 4-2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — First-year Leandro Cruz (Nottingham, Md. / Loyola Blakefield) scored twice and junior Aidan Stillman (Silver Spring, Md. / Albert Einstein) broke an 84th-minute tie with a goal of his own as the sixth-seeded Lycoming College men's soccer team advanced to a Landmark Conference Championship semifinal with a 4-2 victory over No. 3-seed Moravian University on Saturday, Nov. 1, at John Mackuvek Field.

Lycoming (7-6-6) will head to No. 2 Catholic University of America on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m., with a berth in the championship match on the line. Tickets will be available again on Hometown Ticketing.

The Warriors took the lead in the 15th minute, when Cruz cashed in off a pass from senior Christian Woobay (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard) to give the Warriors the early lead. In the 33rd minute, Lycoming doubled the lead, as sophomore Xavier Dandridge (Baltimore, Md. / Archbishop Curley) headed in a corner from senior Thomas Geyer (Havre De Grace, Md. / Harford Tech). Moravian (9-6-4), though, scored three minutes later on a Colin Moyer goal from Logan Moore, closing the gap to 2-1 at halftime.

In the 59th minute, the Greyhounds pulled even when Guiseppe Propato buried a penalty kick. The Warriors, though, had a pair of answers late.

In the 84th minute, sophomore Jake Keeney (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) crossed a pass to the left side of the net behind the last line of defenders and Stillman was there to break the stalemate. Just over a minute later, it was Cruz again, breaking away past the last defender for an unassisted goal to put the game away and secure the Warriors' date with Catholic.

Sophomore Jace Bennett (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) stopped five shots in the win for the Warriors. Casey Prajzner stopped five shots for the Greyhounds as well.
