NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. - First-year
Tre Lesperance (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) moved seven spots up the leaderboard in a field of 57 golfers to lead the Lycoming College golf team, which set a program record with a round of 304, on the Saturday, Oct. 4, at the DeSales Fall Invitational at the par-72, 6,517-yard Olde Homestead Golf Club.

The Warriors finished the two-day tournament in ninth place, moving ahead of Muhlenberg on the second day of the tournament. Albright claimed the team title with a  17-over-par 593 at the tournament.

Lesperance shot an even-par 72 on the second day to finish five-over par at 149 (77-72). He had 14 pars, two bogeys and birdies on the par-4, 368-yard No. 10 and the par-5, 531-yard No. 12.

Junior
Connor Shanahan (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) and first-year
Hill Meserve (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) were each 3-over-par with 75s and junior
Will Eberz (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) rounded out the scoring four with an 82, shooting an even-par 36 on the back nine. First-year
Ryan Ault (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) added a 14-over-par 86.

The round of 304 broke the school-record of 306 carded by Randy Cober (73), Tom Simek (77), Steve Shuey (76) and Fred Bremier (80) in the first round of the 1973 MAC Championship at the par-71 Hidden Springs Golf Course. The Warriors also broke the program record for a two-day tournament, surpassing that 1973 group's two-day score of 640.

Eberz finished tied for 33
rd with a 162 (80-82), posting four birdies in his round. Shanahan and Meserve were tied for 38
th with a 163 (88-75). Shanahan had 15 pars and three bogeys in his second round and Meserve had five birdies on the front nine to card a 3-under-par 33 on that part of the course. Ault finished tied for 50
th with a 171 (85-86).
