NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – First-year
Tre Lesperance (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) finished the first day in a tie for 18
th place in a field of 57 golfers to lead the Lycoming College golf team at the DeSales Fall Invitational at the par-72, 6,517-yard Olde Homestead Golf Club on Friday, Oct. 3.
The Warriors finished the first day in 10
th in the field of 11 teams with a 42-over-par 330, just five strokes behind Muhlenberg in ninth place.
Lesperance was five-over-par during his first round, as he mixed 12 pars with a birdie on the par-4, 355-yard No. 15. Junior
Will Eberz (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) added an 8-over-par 80, as he notched birdies on the par-4, 394-yard No. 2, the par-5, 437-yard No. 16 and the par-3, 174-yard No. 17 to go with nine pars.
First-year
Ryan Ault (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) finished 13-over-par, posting a birdie on the par-4, 416-yard No. 6. Both junior
Connor Shanahan (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) and first-year
Hill Meserve (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) were each 16-over-par.
The Warriors will wrap up the DeSales Fall Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m., at Olde Homestead Golf Course.
