Warriors return to winning ways with 4-0 rout

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.  Four different Lycoming College women's soccer players found the back of the net and the team scored twice in each half in a convincing 4-0 victory over Moravian University in Landmark Conference action on Saturday, Oct. 11 at UPMC Field.

Lycoming (13-1, 3-1) bounced back from their first defeat of the season as they scored four goals for the ninth time this season to defeat Moravian (2-8-2, 1-2-1) for the second year in a row.

The Warriors wasted little time taking the lead, as junior Norah Mosley (Robbinsville, N.J. / Allentown) pocketed a true Olympico in the sixth minute of the match, her sixth goal of the season and third in her last four games. Just shy of half an hour later, senior Abigail Umhoefer (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Our Lady of Lourdes) knocked in her fourth goal of the year off, rebounding a shot from first year Gabriella Rabinowitz (Sewell, N.J. / Washington Township) in the 34th minute. Lycoming led 2-0 at the half.

Following the intermission, the Warriors only added to the lead. In the 54th minute, Rabinowitz scored her tenth goal of the season, doing so off a pass from junior Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area), who picked up her tenth assist and 38th point of the season, just two shy of the school record set by Jordan Lazarich in 2016. The Warriors added a final goal on a penalty kick from junior Mikayla Long (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area), her seventh of the season.

Senior keeper Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J. / Morris Catholic) stopped all six shots that came her way as she recorded her third shutout of the season and the 12th of her career.

The Warriors will be in action next on Tuesday, Oct. 14 for a Landmark Conference matchup at Goucher. The match will begin at 7 p.m. from Beldin Field in Baltimore, Md.
