Segraves homers in Landmark Conference Championship opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Senior Kylie Segraves (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) homered and scored a pair of runs to lead the fifth-seeded Lycoming College softball team in its Landmark Conference Championship opener on Saturday, May 11, falling to top-seeded Moravian University, 3-2, at Blue-Grey Field.

The Warriors will now move into the elimination bracket and will face the loser of the game between third-seeded Juniata and second-seeded Catholic at 4 p.m.

Segraves had two of Lycoming's four hits in the game, scoring in the first and fourth innings, as she homered on a 3-0 pitch as the second batter of the game, sending the ball over the left field fence to give Lycoming (16-15 overall) a 1-0 lead.

The Greyhounds tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a homer from Marcie Silberman and took the lead with two runs in the third.

The Warriors closed within a run in the fourth, as Segraves singled followed by singles from junior Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) - the 100th of her career - and sophomore Alex Eckerson (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) to load the bases with no outs. Sophomore Mallory Rodarmel (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) drove in Segraves with a fielder's choice.

Silberman led the Greyhounds, going 2-for-3 with a run and Lindsey Gawrys had a two-RBI double.
