EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – Junior Alexa Baldwin (Bel Air, Md./ Harford Tech) set the program's single-season assists record and senior Zoe Stauffer (Lititz, Pa./ Warwick) and sophomore Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./ Morris Catholic) both hit milestones in their first Landmark Conference win, posting a 19-6 win over Wilkes University on Wednesday night, April 10, at Schmidt Stadium.
Baldwin surpassed the mark of 40 set by Lycoming Athletics Hall of Famer Heather Suit, set in 2007. Stauffer became the second Warrior to reach 600 career saves after facing 28 shots and making 15 saves, giving her 612 in her career. Block led the Warriors with eight goals which gives her 104 in her career.
The Warriors (5-6 overall, 1-3 Landmark) opened the game with nine goals in the first period and added on six more before going into the half. Junior Kailey Stocker (Ringwood, N.J./ Lakeland Regional) followed Block with five goals and junior Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./ Albertus Magnus) had four goals and she also added two assists.
Wilkes (2-11 overall, 0-5 Landmark) had two goals in the first half and four in the second and was led by Brooklyn Pedana with three goals. Two goalkeepers made an appearance, totaling 12 saves.
The Warriors will be back in action as they visit Drew University on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. in Landmark Conference play.
