Crebs wins 450th as #21 Warriors sweep Jim White Duals

WASHINGTON, Pa. – Junior heavyweight Robbie West (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) clinched the 450th dual meet win in the 31-year career of head coach Roger Crebs '87 with a first-period pin in his hometown to lift the 21st-ranked Lycoming College wrestling team to a 24-18 win over Division II Seton Hill before Lycoming beat Washington & Jefferson, 27-17, to wrap up the Jim White Duals on Saturday, Jan. 20.

Lycoming (9-2 overall) won six of the 10 bouts against the Griffins (4-6 overall), helping Crebs become the seventh Division III coach and the 17th collegiate wrestling coach to reach 450 dual meet wins.

Junior Kaden Majcher (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run), ranked 11th in Division III by the Open Mat, forced overtime with Division II's 19th-ranked William Burgess, getting a third-period reversal before earning a riding-time point to comeback from a 4-1 deficit. In the first ride-out part of overtime, Majcher got another reversal and locked in a pinning combination for a key six points.

The Warriors increaded the lead to 15-4 after junior 157-pounder Logan Bartlett (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) won a scramble for a takedown in sudden victory against Christian Hirak for a 4-1 win after decisions from junior 141-pounder Cooper Gilham (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) and senior 149-pounder Wiley Kahler (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM).

Seton Hill took an 18-15 lead with wins in the next three bouts, but first-year 197-pounder Ivan Neal (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Central) tied the bout with a 7-2 decision over Brendan Finnerty before West pinned Lucas Allen to end the match in 1:41.

Lycoming won six bouts again in the 27-17 win over Washington & Jefferson (3-8 overall), posting four bonus-point wins in the victory.

Majcher pinned Michael Cruz at 125 pounds to kick off the meet with the Presidents and junior 133-pounder Thomas Conselyea (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) followed with a 9-3 decision over Max Jackman. The Presidents won three straight bouts to take an 11-9 lead, but junior Chase Chapman (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) responded with a second-period pin of Kevin Corseault to take the lead back at 165. Sophomore Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) added a major decision of Adam Zerbee, 12-3, at 174 and senior Gable Crebs (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) clinched the match with a 16-0 tech fall of Christian McChesney at 197. West added a 4-3 win over regionally-ranked Trevor Manley to finish off the meet.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 27, when they host King's (Pa.) at 11 a.m. in the Keiper Recreation Center.
