SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Junior
Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) used 15 digs to reach 800 in her career to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team, which saw the end of its eight-match winning streak in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-16) defeat at Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action on Friday night, Sept. 29.
Koval is the 21
st player in program history to reach the mark of 800 digs in a career and she could be joined soon by junior
Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity), who had six digs against the River Hawks (5-10 overall, 1-0 Landmark) to move within four of 800 career digs.
The Warriors (10-2 overall, 0-1 Landmark) notched eight straight wins after starting the season 2-1, as the team enjoyed its longest win streak since an eight-match streak in 2012.
Sophomore
Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) posted nine kills, hitting .368, just missing double-digit kills for the fifth straight match. Junior
Ava Coombs (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) added six kills and first-year
Lindsay Heimlich (Bergen, N.Y./Mercy) had 13 assists.
Samantha Kline had eight kills and Brie Livezey had seven for the River Hawks, who hit .286 in the match. Amanda Gore also added seven kills and three blocks. Keira Roach posted 30 assists and three aces and Valerie Stoltz had 10 digs.
The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 30, when they head to Elizabethtown College for a 2 p.m. Landmark Conference match.
