WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Led by the trio of first-year
Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa./Central Columbia) and sophomores
Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) and
Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area), who each had two wins a piece, the Lycoming College women's tennis team opened MAC Freedom action with a 5-4 win over Arcadia University on Saturday, April 1, at Brandon Park and the Central PA Tennis Center.

Kelchner and Saar took the No. 2 doubles match over Leah Hatcher and Kate Wyszkowski, 8-7, winning a tie breaker 7-5. Kelchner at No. 4 singles defeated Link Bertrand, 6-1, 6-1, as she moved to 9-2 in singles play. Saar, who leads the team with an 11-1 singles mark, fell down a set against Wyszkowski, and was down 5-0 in the second set before rallying back, forcing a tie breaker where she roared back from a 4-1 setback to take the match, 4-6, 7-6, 11-9.

Lanphear, who toppled Keely Ochs, 6-0, 6-2, in the No. 5 singles spot for the Warriors' fifth point, also took the No. 3 doubles win with teammate junior
Haley Seebold (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area), over Bertrand and Bridgit Terry, 8-4.

The Warriors advance to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the MAC Freedom and Arcadia falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the MAC Freedom.

The Warriors return to the court on Tuesday, April 4, when they host Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action at 3:30 p.m. in Brandon Park.
