Warriors fall to Houghton to close season

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa – The Lycoming College women's volleyball team wrapped up their season with a 3-2 (15-25, 25-14, 25-5, 22-25, 11-15) setback to Houghton University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 4, at Lamade Gym.

In the second set of the match junior Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./ Trinity) had seven consecutive serves to put the Warriors (14-10 overall) ahead 10-6 as Lycoming allowed just 19 points in their two set wins.

Junior Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./ Bald Eagle Area) lead the Warriors with 11 kills to go with eight digs and junior Arianna Santos (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) followed with nine kills and four blocks. Both first-year Alli Macensky (Galeton, Pa./Galeton Area) and Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) had four aces, with Macensky adding six kills and three blocks and Balgavy finishing with a team-high 15 assists.

Junior Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) finished with 30 digs, finishing the year with 487 and giving her 1,058 in her career, 13th in program history. Myers added eight digs to finish the season with 926 in her career.

Ainslie Reimer had 19 kills to lead the Highlanders (7-14 overall), as she added 15 digs. Emma Cole had 11 kills, Morgan Brace led the team with 26 assists and Ella Smith had 16 digs.
