HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior
Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) surpassed 33 runners in the final 5,000 meters on the 6K course to become the first Lycoming College women's cross country runner to earn three all-conference honors in a career, as she finished 18
th at the Landmark Conference Championships to earn honorable mention honors at Sunset Golf Club on a muggy Friday afternoon, Oct. 27.

Yocum paced the Lycoming women to a sixth-place finish with 181 points, the best finish ever for a Lycoming team ever at a conference championship, two spots higher than the 1994 team which finished eighth at a 12-team MAC Championships.

The junior finished in 18
th-place and was the fourth of five Honorable Mention All-Landmark Conference runners to finish, as she posted a time of 25:00.92. She made her move between the first and third kilometers, jumping from 51
st to 25
th place, reaching the halfway mark in 12:44. She was faster on the back half of the course and jumped in front of seven more runners to earn all-conference honors for the third straight year after earning Second Team All-MAC honors in 2021 and third-team honors in 2022.

Elizabethtown's Kelty Oaster won the individual title in 22:56.73, but Catholic won the team title with 41 points, ahead of Moravian (66), Scranton (75), Elizabethtown (105) and Susquehanna (108). The Warriors finished ahead of Drew (210), Goucher (212), Wilkes (265) and Juniata (269).

Yocum was not the only Warrior to make jumps in the event standings to help the team to its sixth-place finish. Senior
Ali Clemens (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) cruised past 27 runners in the final 5K to take 25
th place in 25:40.4 and senior
Clair Shaffer (Sayre, Pa./Sayre Area) also ran past 21 runners in the final 5K to take 56
th in 27:51.1.

"Our plan was to attack the second and third loop," Lycoming's fifth-year head coach
Katie Sick said. "I am quite proud of them. They ran so fast for how tough the competition and the course were."

Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) surpassed 13 runners in the last 5K to finish 67
th with a 28:31.8 and junior
Isabella Fave (Middleburg, Pa./Midd-West) finished in fifth for the team, surpassing 15 runners in the final 5K to finish in 29:35.0.

Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) took 88
th in 31:18.9 and first-year
Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) took 89
th in 31:27.1 to round out the team's top seven runners in the field of 98 runners.

The Warriors wrap up the 2023 season on Saturday, Nov. 11, when they travel to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in Lock Haven, with the women's race set for 12 p.m.
