Warriors tripped up in Alfred State tri-match

ALFRED, N.Y. – Sophomore Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) led the Lycoming College volleyball team with 13 kills and 19 digs on the afternoon, but the Lycoming College volleyball team fell to Morrisville State, 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 26-28, 25-19), and Alfred State, 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-13), in a tri-match at the Orvis Activities Center on Saturday, Sept. 24.
 
Bisel posted 10 kills and nine digs to lead the Warriors (9-5 overall) against Morrisville State, senior Liz Kelson (Denville, N.J./Morris Catholic) added six kills and both first-year Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) and sophomore Arianna Santos (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) each had five.
 
Sophomore Marykatelin Button (Avon, N.Y./Avon) posted 20 assists and seven digs and Upcraft posted five aces and two blocks. Sophomore Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) added 22 digs.
 
Emily Huppee led the Mustangs (10-3 overall) with 20 kills and nine digs and Brianna Gates added 15 kills and 13 digs. Siobhan Moore posted 47 assists and Kayla Sheasby posted three aces.
 
Against Alfred State, the Warriors notched eight blocks, but the Pioneers still hit .308 to post the 3-0 win.
 
Four Warriors – sophomore Camryn Quelet (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown), Upcraft, Bisel and Kelson – led the team with three kills. Button added 10 assists and two aces and Myers posted 11 digs to go with Bisel's 10. Santos notched six blocks and Upcraft had two.
 
Karleigh Haines led the Pioneers (8-6 overall) posted 11 kills, Nayomie Ferrer added 27 assists and Racquel Gerstenberger added three aces. Adeline Milligan notched 12 digs.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Sept. 27, when they host King's (Pa.) at 7 p.m. in a MAC Freedom matchup.
