Warriors fall to Rowan for first setback of season

HAVERFORD, Pa. – A goal in the 10th minute from Rowan University was enough to send the Lycoming College men's soccer team to its first defeat of the season, 1-0, to wrap up the Jimmy Mills Tournament at Swan Field on Sunday, Sept. 11.

The Profs (3-2-1 overall) scored on a long shot from Cole Hayman that was assisted by Chad Yates.

The Warriors (2-1-2 overall) had four shots and five corner kicks in the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) made five saves in net and Chay Kaplan earned the shutout for the Profs.

The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 14, when they host Lancaster Bible in a 6 p.m. non-conference game at UPMC Field.
