Lehr, Boyer lead Warriors past Monarchs

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Senior Emma Lehr (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) posted a career-high four goals and senior Erika Boyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) had two goals and five assists to lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team, which won its first MAC Freedom game, 13-9, on Wednesday, April 6, at McCarthy Stadium.

After King's (1-9 overall, 0-3 MAC Freedom) closed within a goal midway through the third quarter at 8-7, Boyer found Lehr for a score with 6:39 left before Boyer netted her second goal a half-minute later to make it 10-7 and give the Warriors (5-6 overall, 1-2 MAC Freedom) some breathing room.

The Monarchs closed within two with two minutes left in the third, but first-year Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) scored two minutes into the fourth before Boyer found first-year Erin Henn (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sayville) for a score to give the Warriors a four-goal lead, before the teams traded a pair of goals late in the quarter to round out the scoring.

Maguire finished with three goals and three caused turnovers and Henn added two. Junior Tess Arnold (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) posted an assist, six groundballs and two caused turnovers.
