Morgan Klosko (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) drove in two runs in the top of the fifth inning and junior
Kylie Russell (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) left four runners stranded in the last three innings to earn the save as the Lycoming College softball team came-from-behind for a 5-3 win over Lebanon Valley College in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, April 23, at LVC Softball Park. The Warriors lost the first game, 4-0.

Klosko's single capped a three-run fifth for the Warriors (7-21 overall) after entering the inning down 3-2, as senior
Kacee Reitz (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) singled with one out before moving to second on a wild pitch. Russell followed with a walk and first-year
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) singled to load the bases. Reitz scored on a wild pitch and after a pop-up, Klosko delivered the go-ahead single.

Russell came on to pitch in the bottom of the inning and didn't let a runner past second base in the final three innings, although she did give up four hits. She struck out three to earn her first save of the season.

The Flying Dutchmen (20-8 overall) scored two runs in the first off three hits before the Warriors tied the game in the third. Reitz led off with a single, moved to second on a single from Russell, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a groundout. Russell scored on an opposite field double from junior
Morgan Wetzel (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain).

The Warriors were led by Reitz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and Wetzel, who went 2-for-4 with a RBI. Russell scored twice.

Sam Burns led the Dutchmen, going 3-for-4 with a  run.

Junior
Payton Whary (Coal Township, Pa./Shamokin Area) (4-7) earned the win, allowins six hits and three runs in four innings. Alicia Gotts (7-4) took the loss, allowing four hits and four runs in 4 1/3 innings

In the first game of the doubleheader, Erin Sinatra threw a two-hit shutout in a 4-0 Lebanon Valley win.

First-year
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) (2-5) matched up with Sinatra in a pitchers' duel for the first five innings, as she allowed six hits and struck out one in 4 1/3 innings before Russell tossed the final five outs, allowing one hit.

The Dutchmen scored all of their runs in the fifth inning, with Anna Marie Hockman hitting a three-run homer to cap the rally.

Hockman went 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBI and Smith went 2-for-3 with a run.

Russell and Klosko had the hits for the Warriors.

The Warriors are back in action on Sunday, April 24, when they head to Alvernia University for a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Angelica Park.
