Fulmer, Kahler lead Warriors at Dr. Sam Case Duals

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior Connor Fulmer, ranked fifth in the nation at heavyweight, provided a pair of pins to highlight the 18th-ranked Lycoming College wrestling team's day at the Dr. Sam Case Duals, where Lycoming was edged out by McDaniel, 24-19, and Johns Hopkins, 22-21.

The Warriors (0-2 overall) were edged out in a tiebreaker with the Blue Jays (2-0 overall), as the dual meet finished in a 21-21 tie, but the Blue Jays earned the tiebreaker via two wins by fall to the Warriors' one. Both teams won five bouts during the dual.

First-year 125-pounder Kaden Majcher (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) started the meet with a 7-6 win over Dhilan Patel and junior 141-pounder Wiley Kahler (Pottsville, Pa./Natvity BVM) posted a 16-1 tech fall to make it 8-6. First-year Kobin Karper (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) added a 12-7 win at 149 to make it 11-6, but the Blue Jays won the next four bouts to take a 21-11 lead. Junior 197-pounder Gable Crebs (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) followed with a 12-0 major decision win against John Libby to make it 21-15, setting up Fulmer, who pinned Will Shiber in 1:04 to tie the meet.

McDaniel (2-0 overall) won six of the 10 bouts in the earlier dual meet to post the 24-19 win.

Sophomore 133-pounder Thomas Conselyea (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) posted a 4-1 decision over Romeo Tsai and Kahler added a 13-0 major decision over Joe McKneely to give Lycoming a 7-3 lead, but the Green Terror won the next four bouts to take an 18-7 lead. First-year James Ellis (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) kept the Warriors in the meet with a first-period pin of Dalton Pearl, but a Green Terror pin at 197 ended Lycoming's comeback. Fulmer finished the meet with a 37-second flattening of Auston Stewart.

The Warriors get back on the mat on Saturday, Dec. 3, when they head to the Ohio Northern Invitational for a 9 a.m. start.
