EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – Despite allowing just 225 yards of total offense, the Lycoming College football team fell to Wilkes University, 24-7, on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Schmidt Stadium, in MAC action.

Wilkes (6-2 overall, 5-2 MAC) made the most of six Warrior turnovers, scoring three first-half touchdowns and getting a third-quarter field goal, while the Warriors (3-5 overall, 2-4 MAC) notched 134 yards of total offense on 46 plays.

Senior
Elijah Shemory (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) finished 10-of-25 passing for 85 yards. He rushed for the team's lone touchdown and was intercepted four times. Sophomore
Ryan Pentz (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) rushed five times for 26 yards and sophomore
Heath Jones (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) rushed eight times for 25 yards.

Cole Senior (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) led the Warrior defense with nine tackles and 1.5 sacks and junior
Coleman Witherite (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) added eight tackles and a breakup. Junior
Hunter Campbell (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) posted seven tackles, two for a loss, a breakup and an interception.

The Colonels scored the first three touchdowns of the game, with Elijah Jules scoring on a 31-yard rush to cap a three-play drive and then he drove in from two yards out to cap a nine-play, 60-yard drive with 1:58 left in the first quarter. Leroy Marshall added a 56-yard interception return for a touchdown early in the second quarter.

The Warriors won the battle of field possession later in the quarter, though, getting the ball at the Wilkes 43 after a punt and scoring seven plays later on a one-yard sneak from Shemory on fourth down. The drive was aided by a 14-yard reception by sophomore
Billy Coppock (Collingdale, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) to get inside the 20.

In the second half, the Colonels only let the Warriors inside their territory twice before both drives stalled. Wilkes' Nick Volpone hit a 20-yard field goal with 1:21 left in the third quarter to round out the scoring.

Jules rushed 20 times for 101 yards and two scores for the Colonels. Xavier Powell went 10-of-22 for 97 yards and an interception. Marshall finished with seven tackles and the interception return for a touchdown to lead the Colonel defense. Nick Troutman had four stops and a fumble recovery Kellen Redmond had a sack.

The Warriors wrap up their home slate on Saturday, Nov. 5, when they host Widener in MAC action at 12 p.m.
