Warriors fall to regionally-ranked Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – In a battle of Region IV's top teams, the Lycoming College men's soccer team, ranked sixth in the latest United Soccer Coaches' regional poll, fell 3-1 in MAC Freedom play to Misericordia University, ranked fourth in the region, on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Sophomore Jahci Knick (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) scored unassisted in the 12th minute, his second tally of the season for the Warriors (7-2-4 overall, 3-1 MAC Freedom). The goal was a quick response after the Cougars scored twice in the first 10 minutes.
 
The Cougars (8-1-4 overall, 3-0 MAC Freedom) capped the game with a goal in the 85th minute to secure the win, moving them into a tie with the Warriors for second in the conference, one point behind Stevens (10-0-2 overall, 3-0-1 MAC Freedom) halfway through the league schedule.
 
Junior goalkeeper Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) finished the game with two saves for the Warriors and Andrew Daubenspeck finished with seven saves for the Cougars.
 
The Warriors return to the field on Saturday, Oct. 15, when they host fourth-ranked Stevens at 3 p.m. at UPMC Field
