WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.- The Lycoming College women's soccer team are off to the best season start in program history, as it defeated Wilson College, 7-0, on a sunny Sunday afternoon, Sept. 19, at UPMC Field. Juniors
Bridget Maaluom (Lynbrook, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy),
Bella Green (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area), and
Kylie Magaro (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) each had two goals to lead the way.
Maaluom struck twice in the first half of the game, her first goal from the top of the box assisted by Green to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Her second goal came at in the 28th minute off of a rebound shot from Magaro.
Green scored goals in both halves, her first a crossover unassisted goal giving the Warriors a 2-0 lead and her second goal came in the 71st minute, as she headed in a corner kick from senior
Jayden Leighow (Unityville, Pa./Hughesville). Green leads the Warriors with eights goals and six assists on the season, as she became the 17th Warrior in program history to post 20 points in a season.
Magaro scored in both halves as well, with her first goal assisted by Maaluom and her second assisted by junior
Rorie Bass Foresman (Danville, Pa./Danville Area.)
The Warriors' final goal was scored by Leighow from the top of the box with an assist by Maaloum.
First-year
Abbey Gerasimoff (Bloomburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) earned her second shutout on the season.
The Warriors hit the road for a 7 p.m. River Derby kickoff at Susquehanna University on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
