WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – First-years
Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) and
Elliott Bello (Trumbell, Conn./Trumbell) each placed sixth and senior
Max Hanson (Fort Walton Beach, Fla./Bishop Machebeuf (Colo.)) finished seventh to highlight a fast day for the Lycoming College cross country teams on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Cougar Classic on the campus of Misericordia University.

Bello led the way for the men's team, finishing in 22:36.60 with Hanson close behind, crossing the 6K-course's finish line in 22:42.70 to pace the men's team in the 37-runner field. Senior
Diego Pallares (Cicero, Ill./Chicago Bulls Prep) posted a time of 26:33.70, junior
Logan Franquet (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) finished in 27:04.30 and first-year
Nate Noel (Sparta, N.J./Sussex Tech) posted a time of 27:20.00.

Yocum took sixth in the field of 51 runners in the three-mile women's race, posting a time of 20:10.60. Junior
Claire Shaffer (Sayre, Pa./Sayre Area) took 31
st in 23:11.00 and sophomore
Hiyori Iai (Zushi, Japan/Yokohama Science Frontier) was 36
th in 24:45.50. Junior
Laurel Stoppard (York, Pa./Central York) finished in 30:15.30 and junior
Mariah Rovenolt (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) crossed in 31:18.20 to round out the team's top five.

Both courses were shortened due to muddy conditions.

The Warriors are back in action at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 25, with the first races scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Big Spring High School.
