WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Ericka Boyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) notched a hat trick and the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team scored a season-high six goals, but undefeated FDU-Florham pulled away late for a 21-6 MAC Freedom win at UPMC Field on Saturday afternoon, March 20.
Boyer scored all three of her goals in the first half after FDU-Florham scored the first 10 goals of the game. The junior got the Warriors on the board in the 24
th minute, before adding a free-position goal and then a nifty shot that beat the keeper to the right with 11 seconds left in the half to make it 11-3.
The Warriors (0-3 overall) scored three of the first five goals in the second half, with senior
Cecilia Massey (Middletown, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) drilling a free-position shot to make it 13-6 with 22:01 left. FDU-Florham (4-0 overall) scored the last eight goals of the game to stay undefeated.
Sophomore
Tess Arnold (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) posted a goal, added five draw controls and a caused turnover. Junior
Emma Lehr (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) also scored and junior
Kailey Coelho (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) added an assist.
Kylee Garcia led the Devils with six goals and two assists. Aubrey Hunter had four goals and both Katie Walsh and Paige Frye had three goals and an assist.
Freshman
Zoe Stauffer (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) stopped 15 shots for the Warriors. Maddy Apap stopped two for the Devils.
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, April 24, when they head to DeSales University for 4:30 p.m. MAC Freedom game.
