WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Cole Senior (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) had 12 tackles, including forcing a fumble that led to the Lycoming College football team's last touchdown in a 30-27 barnburner over Wilkes University on Saturday, Oct. 30, at David Person Field, to take hold of second place in the Middle Atlantic Conference standings with two games remaining in the regular season.

Senior posted 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble to go with his 12 tackles, as helped make it a happy Senior Day for the team's 18 seniors, including senior quarterback
Elijah Shemory (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area), who was efficient on a rainy day, going 10-for-20 for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He was intercepted once, but he still moved past Larry Barretta into fourth in program history with 5,595 passing yards, tied Jason Marraccini for fifth in program history with 41 passing  touchdowns and moved past Colin Dwyer with 392 career completions.

Senior
Tyjah During (Accokeek, Md./Surrattsville) caught three passes for 112 yards and a touchdown, his second career 100-yard receiving game. Senior
Jacob Fimbres (La Habra, Calif./Sonora) rushed once for a team-leading 35 yards and senior
Kevin Krawczyk (Dupont, Pa./Pittston Area) caught two passes for 41 yards and touchdown.

Sophomore
Ian Plankenhorn (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) hit three key field goals to give him 11 on the season, two shy of the school record held by Jamie Fisher (2017) and John Phillips (1990).

The Warriors (6-2 overall, 5-1 MAC) allowed 399 yards to the Colonels (6-2 overall, 5-2 MAC), who allowed just 286, though the Warriors scored 17 points in the second quarter despite holding the ball for just 99 seconds.

Wilkes struck first with an 8-play, 67-yard drive on their first drive, with Jose Tabora scoring from 12 yards out. The Warriors answered back, moving 72 yards down the field with the last six plays of the first quarter before Shemory found Krawczyk for a 17-yard touchdown with the first play of the second quarter.

After a pair of three-and-outs, Wilkes missed a 30-yard field goal attempt. Lining up at the 20-yard line, Shemory found During on the left sideline for an 80-yard touchdown to make it 14-7. Wilkes found themselves deep in their own territory after an interception late in the quarter and were forced to punt from their five, setting up the Warriors with the ball at the Wilkes' 42 with 23 seconds left. A pass interference call and a 13-yard completion to sophomore
Brandon Timothy (West Paterson, N.J./Passaic Valley) got the ball to the 16 and Plankenhorn hit a 33-yard field goal with two seconds left in the half, giving Lycoming a 17-7 lead at the break.

Wilkes' first possession of the second half came to a screeching halt thanks to Senior, as he tackled Elijah Jules for a 10-yard loss on a 2-and-1 and then sacked Tabora for a 12-yard loss on the next play and as he brought the quarterback down, the ball was thrown backwards. Senior
Andre Jackson (Paterson, N.J./Hawthorne) scooped it up at the seven and rolled in for the score, making it 24-7.

Wilkes scored on a 53-yard pass from Xavier Powell to Nate Whittaker and the Warriors responded with a 44-yard field goal from Plankenhorn to make it 27-14 heading into the fourth quarter. Plankenhorn added his third field goal, a 20-yarder on Lycoming's first drive of the fourth quarter.

Wilkes got close late, with an 85-yard touchdown reception from Whitaker making it, 30-20, and one-more touchdown reception to Whitaker making it 30-27 with 1:46 left. The Colonels attempted to on-side kicks, but Krawczyk and junior
Joey Guida (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) smothered them to prevent extra opportunities.

Sophomore
Coleman Witherite (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) posted nine tackles, junior
Austin Rowley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) had eight and junior
David Tomb (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) added seven tackles, 2.5 for loss and a sack. Sophomore

Whitaker caught seven passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns. Angel Ramos led the defense with five tackles, three for loss.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Nov. 6, when they head to Widener for a 1 p.m. MAC game.
