WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Senior kicker Jamie Fisher (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) tied the school record with 30 career field goals, as he hit a pair on Saturday afternoon in the first half for the Lycoming College football team, but King's College was able to hold off a late rally from Lycoming to post a 19-13 Middle Atlantic Conference win on Saturday, Sept. 28, at McCarthy Stadium.
 
Fisher connected from 35 and 39 yards, one in the first quarter and one in the second, to tie the school record set by John Phillips from 1989-92.
 
Down 16-6 after a 26-yard King's field goal midway through the third quarter, the Warriors (1-3 overall, 0-2 MAC) answered quickly, as sophomore Elijah Shemory (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) found senior Steve Toczylousky (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) behind the defense and Toczylousky was able to dive for the pylon and a 76-yard touchdown to make it 16-13.
 
King's used an interception to get a field goal late in the third quarter, but Lycoming's defense held firm, not allowing a first down and -1 yards of offense in the fourth quarter, giving Lycoming four possessions. However, the team's furthest penetration, despite four first downs, was to get the ball to the King's 42 midway through the quarter before a Mikal Butler interception ended the drive.
 
After King's scored on its first drive, the Warriors countered after an interception return by freshman Austin Rowley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) that he returned to the King's 22. Four plays later, senior Jamie Fisher (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) blasted a 35-yard field goal. After a King's punt, the Warriors went on a nine-play drive that culminated in Fisher's record-tying field goal from 39 yards out on the first play of the second quarter.
 
King's got a bit of luck in the second quarter, when freshman Jase Wright (Muncy, Pa./Hughesville) forced a fumble at the Lycoming 24 that King's was able to recover. Three plays later, Tyler Moore found Tim Constantino for a 10-yard score to make it 13-6, which was the lead the Monarchs took into the break.
 
Shemory finished 20-of-38 for 229 yards and a touchdown. Toczylousky had seven catches for 136 yards and junior Tyjah During (Accokeek, Md./Surrattsville) had four catches for 25 yards, adding 67 yards on kick returns and 38 on punt returns.
 
Senior Sam Pawlikowski (West Creek, N.J./Seneca) had 10 tackles, one for loss, and senior Duane Boone (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone Area) added 10 stops, two for loss, and one sack. Senior Ahmad Curtis (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) added eight tackles with half a sack and senior Zach Kovach (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) posted seven tackles. Rowley had two tackles, an interception and a breakup. Freshman Cole Senior (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) also had a sack.
 
Tyler Moore finished 17-of-34 for 214 yards and two touchdowns and Jordan Downes ran 29 times for 153 yards. Gabe Boccella had six catches for 129 yards and a score. Mando Sallavant posted nine tackles, 0.5 for loss and Jaret Horn had two interceptions and three tackles. Charles McCall and Jassiem Lettsom each had a sack.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Oct. 5, when they host Delaware Valley University in a MAC game at 12 p.m. at David Person Field as part of Homecoming & Family Weekend.
